We like AV Media. Their AV products were great to play with. They worked around the corner from us. They helped out on our fitouts. And they had this great café over the road that had really good scones. So when the AV Media Directors told us they wanted some advice on moving, it was with a heavy heart that we became involved.
It all began a long, long time ago in a pre-GFC world that seems far, far away. AV Media knew that the Richmond area didn’t work for them anymore. Too much inner-city traffic congestion. Growing stock requirements. And a landlord looking to develop their building.
With the end of the lease looming in the distance AV Media contacted BRM to discuss their options. Where to go? What kind of property?
And buying an office is even more critical because it acts as an investment and long term workspace proposition. The conversations went around and around. Properties were considered then rejected and each time the scope was tightened until AV Media knew exactly what they needed. And then a strange thing happened. The Global Financial Crisis came along, and commercial property prices started to drop. With perfect timing AV Media selected and negotiated the purchase of a modern office and warehouse premises in Notting Hill.
“BRM provided a great sounding board to help us work out exactly what we needed” says AV Media director Chris Kiskaris.
“And their input for the fitout and relocation was the perfect accompaniment to our in-house resources.”
Some expert guidance, a partial fitout and a relocation later and AV Media were gone. It’s kind of sad. Don’t get us wrong - we’re happy that AV Media love their new home. It’s just… well, we miss the scones!
