ACFWorkplace Design
re-design of office layout
|
|
Our recent work with The Australian Conservation Foundation saw a re-design of its office layout that resulted in an eco-friendly and efficient workspace.
The Brief:
To improve staff productivity and create a lighter, more collaborative environment. We were to use the existing office furniture as much as possible and when introducing new products, we were to consider waste and landfill .
The Challenge:
ACF is situated in Melbourne’s 60L building – a premier example of how it is possible to achieve a commercially viable and sustainable workplace. The building’s standards ensure that its tenants adopt environmentally friendly practices and BRM’s re-design project needed to reflect this, while remaining within budget.
The Work:
To keep costs at a minimum we re-used a lot of the existing furniture in our re-organisation of the space. Any new furniture that was introduced was sustainably sourced and recyclable. Plastics and PVCs were avoided and instead, we placed a strong focus on wood, cardboard and metal. To allow for quiet within an open plan, we arranged the office in an acoustically sensitive way.
The End Result:
A more spacious environment that promotes collaboration and efficiency.
A better use of the space means that people are closer to the departments they need to be.
The new ACF office layout reflects the fundamental role of space influencing productivity, health, interaction and ultimately, success. We created a pleasant work environment that fosters collaboration, positively impacts productivity and highlights ACFs goal to protect the natural resources that our planet depends on.
