We love working on new projects with our existing clients. Optalert, is an exciting client, who has developed a technology that acts as an early warning drowsiness detection system. As its technology has grown and the company itself is increasingly becoming trusted by major global companies, its needs are changing, especially in the workplace itself and the property it occupies. From our early property advisory work with the then new CEO Scott Coles in 2014, to the fitout of Optalert’s new offices that same year, BRM Projects has continued to act as Optalert’s trusted property partner throughout all of the its changes over the past few years. Here is a preview of just some of the work BRM Projects has carried out for this fascinating company: Property Advice Over The Years:
Optalert has partnered with BRM Projects over the long course of its rise from tech startup to a globally recognised brand. Our relationship has highlighted the true benefits of engaging the same property consultant with a broad, inter disciplinary knowledge of corporate property. In the past BRM Projects has offered a broad range of property advisory services to Optalert, from review to market, to spatial assessments, negotiations with landlords and design and fitouts. Throughout this journey, we have gotten to know Optalert and Scott very well. As long term property consultants we posess a thorough understanding of the company’s ever-changing needs, formats and challenges. We have helped it achieve a successful working relationship with a not-for-profit landlord by using a sophisticated and gentle approach, rather than a harder commercial approach. We have also assisted Optalert through various ‘stay or go’ decisions, regarding short leases, common to the area – our most recent property advisory services were provided in September 2018 and we continue to look ahead at further property challenges and changes for this constantly evolving company. The Fitout Project 2014: See how we added some colour and life (and a pool table) to a quality existing fitout. Unless a client has an appetite and resources for a full fitout, we recommend searching for a good quality, existing fitout – the trick is assessing what potential fitouts will be cost-effective and simple to modify, have a reasonable landlord to negotiate with, and a layout that meets your organisation’s needs. Whilst this is not always possible and sometimes the search net needs to be cast wider, Optalert was able to secure accommodation walking distance from its existing space with a high quality fitout just wanting a little love to bring it back to life. BRM Project’s expertise was sought to freshen up the future space, adjust it to Optalert’s requirements and improve the facilities for the staff, whilst working to a conservative budget. With Scott Coles, Optalert’s CEO, in Sydney and the marketing run remotely from Brisbane, Optalert understood BRM Projects would be able to locally co-ordinate the design and project management for the Melbourne’s fitout and relocation together with the make good and handover of the existing space. “BRM Projects excelled beyond my expectations” says Scott. "I needed a local project manager that I could trust and give me peace of mind." "BRM had excellent communication skills to guide us and listen to our needs, understood the project parameters and supported us throughout the project right through to the move, make good and handover. Whilst relocating, we took the opportunity to fine-tune our logo and corporate direction and BRM Projects worked with the entire management to incorporate our changes throughout the delivery.” Talk to us about your project today!
